Every year in my Etsy shop I contemplate the reasons as to why I keep crochet nose warmers in my shop. They’re silly looking and really only good for gag gifts. There was a short period of time where they were a crochet trend. I’ve left them up because, frankly, they do sell in November and early December. I imagine most people are buying them as gag gifts. They definitely give a good laugh.

I thought I’d share my crochet nose warmer pattern since it is so simple and a great gag gift or white elephant gift. It’s super simple and good for a small amount of yarn as well.

You’ll need a small amount of worsted weight yarn, I usually use acrylic yarn and a 5.5 mm hook. Scissors and a yarn needle for finishing help too.

Stitches: SL ST- slip stitch, HDC- half double crochet, DC- double crochet, CH- chain

Make a magic circle and chain 1.

Round 1: Put 9 HDC into the magic circle, pull tight, and slip stitch to the first HDC. (9)

Round 2: CH 1, DC in the 1st stitch, *2 DC in the next stitch, 1 DC in the next 2 stitches* around (12)

Rounds 3: CH 1, HDC in first stitch, CH 44, 1 HDC in the next 5 stitches, CH 44, 1 HDC in each of the last of stitches, SL ST to first HDC (12) Finish off and weave in ends. All done!

If you’d rather buy a nose warmer, you can find it in my Etsy shop. I have a pretty quick turn around time on these! Definitely check out some of my other patterns which make great Christmas gifts. I’d recommend the Aspen Chroma Cowl or Folded Ivy Button Cowl
